Dahlem Classes & Programs
Part of our mission is to provide environmental education to the people of south central Michigan. As ”Jackson’s Nature Place,” we serve as an outdoor laboratory for school groups and as a place for nature study, quiet reflection, rural gardening and beekeeping. Our exhibit space provides the casual visitor with information about local flora and fauna, and a walk along any of our trails is bound to be educational, even if only by bringing visitors a little closer to nature.
Every season we offer programs for adults, ranging in topics from natural beekeeping to soapstone carving, from learning to identify warblers to growing fresh greens all winter long. Families enjoy our Nature Playscape, our annual Goblin Walks and our Maple Sugaring Day. And what child wouldn’t love to romp in the woods for a week at our Outdoor Adventure Day Camps! Our award-winning school programs help students reconnect with nature, either on field trips to The Dahlem Center or in the classroom.
