Dahlem Ecology Farm
The Dahlem Ecology Farm was made possible by a generous donation to educate the public about sustainable agriculture, land use, and conservation practices on farmland. Located at the former J. Sterling Wickwire Angus cattle farm on Wickwire Rd., the Ecology Farm is operated by The Dahlem Conservancy.
The DEF currently hosts a 48-plot Community Garden, and a public apiary where beekeepers can rent a plot to keep their bees. In 2015 we are also opening a new trail at the farm, The Butterfly Trail, which is part of a statewide initiative to monitor native butterfly populations through the Michigan Butterfly Network.
