Valid for first time members only. \nPre-Registration required to attend our annual Goblin Walks event.  Every 15 minutes a group of twenty five people head down the trail to enjoy an evening autumn color tour\, a 1/2 mile trail walk meeting larger than life critters performing entertaining educational skits. Don’t worry — there’s plenty to do in any kind of weather — as long as it’s dark! Let’s explore and use our night senses as the world around us awakens for night life. Who might we hear rustling nearby and calling out in the eerie silent night in the distance?   Do you have night vision\, what color is that\, and why do pirates wear eye patches?\n.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is required\, and is limited to 25 participants. Please dress for the weather\, bring a small flashlight to carry in your pocket\, and be ready to walk a couple miles.  Recommended for ages 12 and up. Join Ella Sharp Museum and Dahlem\, Jackson’s Nature Place for a wonderful night under the stars! \nThe nature walk\, led by Dahlem Naturalist Educator\, Carrie Benham\, will explore how plants and animals are preparing for the warmer months ahead of us\, share information about nocturnal animals and the senses they use\, and share how we as humans can better develop our own senses and awareness during the night. \nElla Sharp Museum will be providing a virtual night sky tour by our Planetarium Operator and STEM Educator\, Travis Marlow. We will be observing what the night sky looks like where we are and learning tricks and tools to use to better understand the night sky above us. \nTickets are nonrefundable. In the event of a rainy day\, tickets will be applied to a rescheduled date. If attendees must cancel\, their credit can be applied to other events EXCEPT the Art\, Beer\, and Wine Festival. Thank you! \nOwl Prowl Night Hike will start at 6:30 pm with a short indoor presentation to learn about the owl species that reside in Michigan\, their adaptations\, and then we’ll take a night hike on Dahlem’s quiet trails listening for owls and other night creatures.  We will use an artificial device to call out to owls with anticipation that they answer back.  In past\, the Great Horned\, Barred and Screech owls have replied.  This is a fun night not to be missed.  Make it a ‘date night’ without kids. \nFee: $8/per Dahlem member; $10/per non-member.
