New Program Series for Young Families

Are you looking for a way to introduce your family to the outdoors, but perhaps are a bit unsure?  Then check out our new fall series:  First Saturdays – a Parent/Child Guided Adventure.  For the next three months, starting this Saturday (Sept. 3), we are introducing families to some of the fabulous sights and sounds of nature at Dahlem.

Late Summer in the Field –  we start off this series this weekend (Sept. 3) with an exploration of our grassland.  Grasslands can often be overlooked as places of interest, but to the naturalist, it is a delightful habitat full of life and color.

Autumn is Here – October is the quintessential month of autumn.  Colors, smells, tastes all tell us that October is here.  We will spend our morning learning about why leaves change color in the fall.

Turkey Tales – Come November, we are all thinking of Thanksgiving, and that means turkey!  So it is only proper that we talk turkey when we meet this month.  Come learn about these iconic birds!

Each month we meet at 10:30 AM.  After a story, we pack a quick snack and hit the trails for our exploration, which wraps up about noon.

Fee:  the program is $15/member family and $20/non-member family, and payment is due upon registration.  The registration deadline is the Wednesday before the program, but since that would be tomorrow for our first session, we are extending September’s registration deadline to this Thursday to give you just a little extra time to decide.

To register, give us a call (517-782-3453), or stop by in person (offices open Tues. – Fri. 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Sat.  10:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Sun. Noon – 5:00 PM).
