Birds, Blooms & Butterflies Festival Recap

Even though we are now a week and change past this year’s BBB Festival, it is never too late to extend our thanks to those folks who helped make this festival a success.

First, we want to thank the good people from Polly’s Country Market for their generous sponsorship this year!  This was their first time sponsoring an event for Dahlem, and we are very grateful they chose to give for this important festival, which honors the many winged creatures and flowering plants that share our world.

Jackson Audubon also provides sponsorship dollars to BBB.  Connie Spotts, Jackson Audubon’s president, was also on hand to share her passion about butterflies and moths.  She had many cecropia caterpillars and cocoons on display, and is always enthusiastic in her presentations.

MANY volunteers help make this festival run smoothly:  from monitoring parking and driving visitors over from the church in our golf cart, to setting up and taking down tents, tables and chairs, it is all so very important!  Whether you painted faces, greeted visitors, sold plants, or answered questions about native flowers, insects or birds, your time and expertise is invaluable to us!  Thank you.
