Space Explorers: The Milky Way Mission

Space Explorers: The Milky Way Mission Night Hike
Calling all star-seekers! Bring your blankets and your curiosity to explore the wonders of the night sky. We’ll learn about the science of night vision and discover the ancient stories hidden among the stars. Our telescopes will be ready for you to witness the beauty of the galaxy up close, and you’ll even get to create your own glowing art using the magic of the night. It’s the perfect chance for families to experience the darkness in a whole new light!
There is no age limit on this event. It was created to be family-friendly.
When: October 9th, 7:15pm to 8:45pm (presentation will begin at 7:15pm)
Where: The Dutcher Room and the Trails
Cost: $5 per non-member ticket / $3 per member ticket (children under 3 are free)
Cancellations: The Dahlem Center has a 24-hour cancellation policy. No-shows will not be refunded.
What to Bring: Dress in layers! Hopefully the weather is good to us but prepare to cozy up. Also, bring a large blanket for your family to sit on in the grass. If you have a red light flashlight, bring that! Wear good walking shoes. The total hike is less than a mile.
Weather: This event is weather-permitting. We can’t view the night sky if clouds are covering it. If the evening of the event is supposed to be extremely cloudy, expect the event to be postponed. It could be postponed into November because of pre-scheduled vacations and seasonal events we have here at Dahlem.
